Each day will be just like a professional training and game schedule, consisting of three meals a day, housing, and eight hours each day of accelerated baseball instruction.“Baseball is a big part of my life and I love it as you know,” Defore said. “Attending the Pirate City Training Program will be great for me because it will help me grow as a player and person. The event will also prepare me for college baseball one day, which is a big future goal of mine. A lot of good players will be there and I can train with them in order to elevate my game to a higher level. This will give me invaluable experience.”The former Wellington High School student is currently enrolled at Hiawatha High School and is a senior. He is currently the co-captain of the Hiawatha cross country team. He also played basketball and ran track. This summer he is a member of the Hiawatha Legion Post 66 team. Hiawatha does not have a high school baseball team.Defore is seeking sponsorship support to succeed with this opportunity. He needs to raise $2,500 to cover expenses such as airfare, hotel, food, training, coaching, Under Armour uniform, registration, insurance, personal instruction and miscellaneous cost.
