first_imgWhat has now become tradition, the “30 Days Of Dead” free track share is set to begin this coming Wednesday, November 1st. As is custom, Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux will select thirty standalone songs from the band’s deep vaults to be released each day during the entire month of November. 30 Days Of Dead is not only for fans to enjoy—the special series also tests their knowledge by asking them to guess the date and venue that each track was performed in.The Grateful Dead Almanac confirmed the news in its most recent issue. The song selection will be released on Dead.net, who released the following statement:“You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C’s, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic “comeback” tour from a spacey 70’s show? Each day we’ll post a free download from one of the Dead’s coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in ’93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen’s harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand all November long and win prizes while you’re at it.”Never a dull moment with the Grateful Dead. Take a listen to the 2016 track selection via Spotify below:last_img
